April 21: Summit Co Public Education Community Forum

Proud to stand with teachers, administrators, school board members, and union leaders from all over Summit County united in one message: our public schools matter. As stated tonight, the Ohio legislature is placing a squeeze on public education and sending millions of taxpayer dollars to private schools while public classrooms are left with less.


April 20: Secretary of State Primary Debate

Many thanks to all the sponsoring organizations that brought Representative Allison Russo and Dr. Brian Hambley under one roof for this debate. It was certainly informative and we appreciate them coming out to speak. 


April 17: Battle of the Badges Fundraiser

Way to go Cuyahoga Falls for coming out to support the Falls Cancer Club! Congrats to Team Police on their victory! A fun night was had by all, including many of our Club members.

 


April 15: Monthly Membership Meeting

What a great turn out for our April meeting! We thank this month's special speakers:

- Judge Kelly McLaughlin, running for re-election Summit County Court of Common pleas

- Tania Nemer, Candidate for Judge, Summit County Court of Common Pleas

- Kathryn Ress, from the Family Support Group for Immigration, a volunteer-support system affiliated with the Akron Area Interfaith Council (AAIC)


April 11: CF Dem Club Service Project: Postcards for Library Levy

It was so encouraging to see 26 folks come out for this service project in support of the library. We have one of the best around! We plan to do more postcards soon, so stay tuned!!


April 11: Sidewalk Rally for Library Levy, 11am-1pm

When we join forces, we accomplish big things! The response from the public was awesome! Vote YES on Issue 5 on May 5!!

 


April 9: Roberto for State Senate Fundraiser

What a fun night at The Depot in Kent in supoort of Mike Roberto for State Senate. He gave an empassioned speech and invited other candidates to do the same. Here, we managed to capture a moment with our own Noah Spinner, candidate for State Rep.

April 8: Meet the Candidates Night

It was great to see so much of the community come out for the Meet the Candidates Night. We've got a great slate of Dems running, that's for sure!


April 1: Steve Elliott for Probate Judge Fundraiser

We believe in Steve! He is clearly the most qualified candidate to run for this position. He is the Chief Magistrate in this court and has in-depth knowledge of the law & procedures that govern this court. We're proud to support him!

 


March 31: Acton for Governor Fundraiser

What an evening! So many in attendance and volunteering! We socialized, we noshed on catering from Bellacino's, we enjoyed wine from Nauti Vine, and inhaled treats handmade by Trustee Deb Monaco and others. As if that wasn't enough, State Senator Casey Weinstein and State Rep Derrick FIRED UP the crowd for the one & only Dr. Amy Acton.  Amy, as we like to call her, gave us her vision for the Ohio that could be and we loved it. Looking forward to a Blue Wave this fall!

How wonderful to see our friends, neighbors, & club members out in the streets today. It is important we show solidarity in these crazy times.

 


March 27: CF Dem Club Cash Mob Night Out

This month we gathered at the VFW and enjoyed their fish fry. The food was delicious and the comraderie was delightful. We even won a round of trivia! What a fun night out.

 

 

 

 

 


March 18: Monthly Membership Meeting

It was so good to see so many out in support of this build-up to our forthcoming fundraiser for Dr Amy Acton. On a snowy night! Y'all are amazing!!


March 11: Noah Spinner for State Rep Fundraiser

It was so gratifying to see our own Noah Spinner lifted up in support this evening as he chases his dream. A well-attended function for sure!


March 7: Congresswoman Sykes Fundraiser, 9:30-10:30am

What a great turn-out for our Congresswoman Emilia Sykes! Her clarity of vision for this district is very clear and her enthusisam is contagious! We need her voice in Congress!


March 4: Clerk of Courts Kowalski Fundraiser

Congratulations to Nicole Kowalski on her appointment to Clerk of Courts for Stow Municipal! It was good to see so many come out to support her!

 


March 4 - Library Levy Kick-Off Event

It was great to see Club members and neighbors turn out in support of our awesome library! Gives us hope for a levy renewal!

 


Feb 28 - SCYD Breakfast Bingo Bash

The Summit County Young Dems did a fantastic job putting on their Breakfast Bingo Bash! We enjoyed the food and fellowship. And the bingo was just a fun bonus, especially for Karen who walked away with a gift basket for winning a round!

February 17 - Fundraiser for Judicial Candidate Lisa Dean

Lisa Dean is running for a county-side seat as Judge of the Domestic Relations Court. She held a very festive Mardis Gras-themed fundraiser and we were glad to help kick-off her campaign! February 7 - Cuyahoga Falls Chocolate Walk

Club members not only participated in our Day of Service at the Food Bank Saturday, we also participated in the downtown Cuyahoga Falls Chocolate Walk. We certainly believe in supporting our local small businesses and this sure was a fun way to do it!


February 7 - Day of Service at Akron-Canton Food Bank

The Club participated in a Day of Service at the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank. A tribe of us sorted donated food into various categories for packaging and distribution to those in need. We were told at the end of our shift that the amount of food we sorted amounted to 21,714 meals. We all agreed it felt good to serve our greater community and that we will return.

February 6 - Cash Mob Night Out

This month we enjoyed our Cash Mob Night Out at The Workz on Front Street. The vibe was festive and the food was delicious. Some of played some of the games and some stayed for the band. We a surprise guest- Mike Roberto, candidate for State Senate. Interestingly, his wife Lisa, who also attended was reunited with one our members and her former grade school teacher! A good time was had by all!!

 


February 4 - Tania Nemer for Judge Fundraiser

It was a good night for some of our members to get out and support Tania Nemer, who is running for Judge. It is exciting to see all the Democratic candidates starting to come forward!

 

 


January 21 - Annual Meeting and New Year's Party

Thank you to everyone who helped us kick off a new year for our awesome club! We served a delicious BBQ dinner from Big Eu'es, offered a 50/50 raffle, visited with some Special Guests, heard a 'State of the Club' summary, and saw our board get sworn in by the mayor. 


January 5 - Swearing In Ceremony

What a way to bring in the new year but to attend the Swearing In Ceremony for the Mayor and City Council! We're excited for the year ahead with this amazing team! To boot, all of the CF Dem Club Trustees were in attendance to show their support.

December 18 - Summit County Democratic Party Holiday Party

What a phenomenal turn-out for the County's annual Holiday Party!! Our members enjoyed visiting with old friends, meeting new candidates, and signing petitions for our allies running for office. What a night to remember!

December 12 - Investiture of Judge Amber Zibritosky

What a great day seeing Amber Zibritosky get sworn in as Judge at Stow Municipal Court. It was also neat seeing so many other Judges come in support, along with many of our members. 


December 6 - Ribbon Cutting for New 6-12 Campus

How wonderful so many of our members made it to the Ribbon Cutting for our fabulous new 6-12 Campus! It's quite something. So good to see the community come out and support the school too.


November 20 - Food Bank Drop-Off

Our Club facilitated a food drive for the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank. It's heartwarming to see all of the donations that were turned in. President Joe Siegferth made the delivery to the food bank. Way to go Club!!


November 19 - Monthly Membership Meeting

What an eventful meeting we had this month!

Summit County Democratic Party Chair, Mark Derrig, gave an insightful overview of the election results for Summit County. Democrats turned out and flipped seats. It's very encouraging for the 2026 mid-terms.

Mayor Don Walters added additional insightful comments about our awesome city.

And Chief Magistrate Steve Elliott of the Summit County Probate Court taught us all a lot about how to avoid probate. Helpful packets with forms were distributed. We highly recommend Mr. Elliott to anyone seeking a speaker for their club!

And another great turnout!


November 16 - Falls Rotary Fundraiser "A Century of Service"

Many of our members happily attended the Falls Rotary Club Annual Dinner. This year's theme was "A Century of Service", marking 100 years since the club was founded. It was inspiring hearing about all the good Rotarians do in our community and around the world.


November 6 - Book Donation Day

Our members managed to round-up 3 full boxes of books and delivered them to the Summit County Jail on Book Donation Day. Hopefully the inmates will enjoy these as much as we did!


November 5 - City Budget Community Forum

Many thanks to City Council President, Russ Balthis, for hosting the City Budget Community Forum. Our members who attended found this very informative. Interesting and engaging questions we asked and answered. We all came away with a much greater understanding of just how complex the budgeting process is. And a greater appreciation for all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into making our city run smoothly. We sure are fortunate to Bryan Hoffman as our Finance Director - he rocks!


November 4 - Election Night Watch Party

What a victorious night for Democrats in Cuyahoga Falls!! Congratulations to:

November 4 - Election Day!

We are so proud of so many of our members who stepped up to serve as poll greeters today! It's such a valuable service. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to support democracy and Democrats!


November 3 - Food Drive for Food Bank

Today, some of our members came out in the chilly morning to load up and transport all of the Stow food drive donations to the Akron Canton Regional Food Bank. In addition, over $900 cash was raised! It is heartwarming to see neighbors stepping up to help their neighbors out in these uncertain times. <3


October 31 - Cash Mob Night Out

A frightfully good time was had by all at our Halloween Cash Mob Night Out. This month, we chose to gather at Divine Restaurant on Hudson Drive. For some of us, it was our first time in and boy were we impressed! The drinks were delicious and the food was in fact divine. Extra shout out for the martinis, truffle fries, and french onion soup. Thanks to everyone who came out, including a new member!

October 11 - Ohio Democrats Ohio Rising Annual Dinner

We had a great crew in Columbus as we heard from amazing speakers who made us excited about the future of Democratic politics in Ohio! Special thanks to Summit County Democratic Party for the tickets, and special shout-out to Chair Mark Derrig (@markderrig) for receiving Large County Chair of the Year Award! It was a memorable event!


September 26 - Cash Mob

This month, we gathered at Tiki Underground for our Cash Mob night out.  Beautiful weather, good food, great drinks, and comradery galore. We love that members enjoy patronizing our locally-owned establishments and enjoy hanging out outside of our regular meetings!


September 17 - Annual Spaghetti Dinner

What a great night to come together as a community! We enjoyed comradery over a delicious Italian dinner. It was great hearing from special guest Allison Russo, who is running for Secretary of State. If that wasn't enough, we then had the amazing opportunity to hear from headliner Dr. Amy Acton, who is running for Governor. She was strong, compassionate, and inspiring. So good to see our Mayor and City Council members too! Thank to everyone for your interest in this special evening!

 

 

 


September 17 - Fair Maps Now Rally

Members attended the rally at the statehouse today to demand fair redistricting maps for our state. There were enough protestors to circle the building! We are not alone in believing that people should pick their politicians and not the other way around.


September 16 - Fundraiser for Green Law Director Lisa Dean

While showing support to Club member, Lisa Dean, it was great to see old friends and new friends. Keep up the good work, Lisa!


August 29 - Cash Mob/Nite Out

What a fun night out at Missing Mountain Brewery! The drinks were refreshing, the food was delicious, and the conversation was upbeat. Next month we will be at Tiki Underground. Join us!

August Club Meeting

What a great turnout for our August monthly meeting! It was helpful learning more about the work the Falls Cancer Club is doing from guest speaker, Pat Chula. We also had the opportunity to hear about his race for Ohio Attorney General, candidate Elliot Forhan. In attendance were special guests Amber Zibritosky who is running for Judge at Stow Municipal Court, Nicole Kowalski from Hudson City Council, and Shaun Castillo who is a candidate for Twinsburg City Council. Thank you everyone in attendance for participating in our Club!

 

 


August 15 - Bridge Protest

How wonderful to see so many of our members and neighbors out for a Bridge Protest! Even more amazing were the honks, waves, peace signs, and thumbs-ups we received from the drivers below. Not even 5 seconds would go by without a show of support - amazing! Our banners read: "Be Brave. Resist Trump." Trying our best to save democracy one day at a time.

John Lewis Rally

Hundreds gathered and marched to the John Lewis Memorial Bridge to recommit to the cause of democracy in honor of Rep. John Lewis’ legacy on the anniversary of his death. Thank you to all who participated and co-sponsored!

June 28 - Club Summer Picnic

What a phenomenal turnout for our annual Summer Picnic! The food was delicious and the fellowship with fellow Democrats was heartwarming. It was good to hear an update from the Mayor regarding the positive state of our awesome city.
