Ward 8 Council

Being a lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls, I enjoyed a wonderful childhood and would like others to experience the same. This is why I'm running for Ward 8 Council.

I am ready to represent Ward 8 on day one. This ward will have a new council representative next year as this is an open seat, which presents a great opportunity for our ward to have a representative who listens, fully understands our unique issues here in Ward 8 and knows how to get those issues addressed at City Hall. After a successful career in the NFL, I returned to my hometown of Cuyahoga Falls, a vibrant and welcoming community, where I raised my family. This past year has been especially exciting as I have met and listened to the concerns of my fellow residents of Ward 8. In meeting with residents, I know firsthand that they are worried about future development in our ward, and the condition of roads and water drainage. I have already started talking to City Hall officials about these concerns.

It takes leadership and a commitment to public service to do this job well. As a Cuyahoga Falls native, I have a proven history of and passion for community and service leadership. I have dedicated my life to the service of others through non-profit, philanthropic, and volunteer efforts. Most recently, I attended a Youth Men's Training Day sponsored by Summit County Juvenile Court to motivate young teenagers to believe in themselves and strive for success. To illustrate my message, I shared my personal experience of overcoming obstacles through hard-work, perseverance and dedication. I will use these same tenacious skills as the Ward 8 councilperson.

My personal and business experiences have given me an opportunity to interact with members of the community from all walks of life and I understand the needs and concerns of all people. From my time at the University of Notre Dame and in the National Football League and the Cleveland Browns Alumni Association, I have learned the innate value of teamwork, leadership, active listening, critical thinking, and executing plans; skills that are all imperative to being an effective councilperson. I continue to run my campaign and will serve as a councilperson under the mission of putting people before politics. I will work to deliver the voice of all constituents to City Hall by opening lines of communication through regular ward meetings and community interaction. I will provide a fresh and positive perspective to council and will work collaboratively with other members of council, regardless of party lines, to continue the momentum of moving the City of Cuyahoga Falls forward.
